Life on the Wonk!!!

We moved on to Carpe Diem at the weekend.  For weeks she has been upright and we thought that she had settled down nicely.  However, by Tuesday she had gone a bit wonky and now she is at quite an angle.  It makes life a little disconcerting being almost permanently on a slant.  Pete has now got to bring her back upright and get her to stay that way.  Alfie is having great fun though.  He has discovered that if he puts a ball up at one side of the boat, it rolls down to the other side!

  1. You might need to shift some ballast around to put her back on an even keel do you think ?

  2. More than a little disconcerting, I should think. What happened, did the tide go out? I've never seen a sailboat do that in deep moorage.
Do you cook aboard? That would be a task and a half.
    Good luck!

  3. You are having such an adventure. I need to some reading to get caught up. It's hard to imagine being in a moorage that goes dry. We just took possession of a new (to us) boat last Sunday. Now that we have to stay in Bellingham more taking care of Mom, Wayne wants to have something to keep himself occupied. We thought a small power boat would give us the opportunity for day trips and a few overnighters to the nearby islands. Also, when I am tied up with care giving activities he has a place to putter around. Should be fun for both of us. - Margy

  4. Sounds like a great adventure. It must have been challenging when you cook too. Have a gorgeous day, Kellie xx

  5. Mel - you are right, we will have to shift some ballast around or borrow some more off the local church roof!
Kay - yep, it was down to the tide. Actually we have two rings, a grill and a cooker and are used to cooking for 8 or more people to dinner. Once we BBQ'ed for 60 off the back of the boat!
Marge - I am glad you will still be able to get on the water. I find that I get quite down if I don't get out on the water for a while. It will also give you a well earned rest.
Kellie - I'm not sure adventure is quite the word, challenge is probably more like it!!!!!
